Labor Day 5lb Challenge

About: from 7/24 thru 9/3, you can join in @ any point even the final week, the challenge is to lose just one beaker o' fat, or 5lbs. Losing more or less lbs is totally acceptable.
You don't need your own website to participate, men are welcome too.
There is no need to reveal your weight, on 9/4 just let the group know how much you've lost.
I'd like the challenge's focus to be fun and light hearted so reporting a weekly weigh in here isn't necessary. Plus we all know how the scale fluctuates and I'd hate for anyone to lose motivation or get frustrated in the latter days. For that reason the official challenge weigh in date will be 9/4. [edit: since it's a holiday weekend (thx for the out of town reminder jj), the challenge still ends on 9/3 but you can post your final weigh in anytime the following week, by 9/10 @ the very latest.]

Well. Since it looks like I might have had the tiniest bit to do with this - er - challenge, put me down for a beaker. I'll aim for two (since I did purchase a 10 pound mouth full of foot).

Well since I'm preggers now, and I just finished reading that I'm supposed to average a 3-5 lb gain in the first trimester, my goal will be to gain no MORE than 1 beaker. Hope that's okay! I do need to keep on top of things so I don't overeat and this challenge will help me a lot, Renee! So I'll take your beaker when you're done with it, but no more! ![]()

I'm not very brave and challenges kind of freak me out. I mean, what if I fail?
That said, I like reading you and I trust you and if all these other people are doing it, I can too, right?
So...I don't have a whole lot left to lose, but five pounds by Labor Day seems pretty reasonable. Then two pounds later I will be at goal, most likely by my birthday three weeks later. What a present, huh?
I am totally in, Renee you're a great inspiration, I'm a long time lurker. I recently decided to start back my weight loss journey on 7/19, today at my weigh-in I've lost 2.5lbs....so count me in for two beakers!

I'm in for 1.5 beakers. My weight loss lately has slowed to a stop because I've been concentrating on CHEESE instead of exercise and food intake.

You know what. Maybe this is what I need to get my last 10 pounds done. So I am in for 2 breakers!
my 'official' weigh in day is on Fridays. but I'm obsessed to see how well I'm doing since I'm on track with my workout goal, and I dumped the sweets this week (last week was a loss of 3.2 pounds!), and I weighed in this morning (thurs) and argh! i'm only down .4 of a pound! #$$$%^#*! I thought I'd be closer to 2 pounds by now! ppppbbbfffttt! I hate this game!
I would really love to do this....It IS a great motivator and I really needed something like this to help me out. Thanks!

Dang it! I gotta stay caught up on my blog reading! Almost got left behind. I'm a week late starting but count me in! Starting weight: 149. This will keep me from going off on an eating bender for my up coming birthday.
