Marla brings up a good point about Jessica Simpson's booty this morning:
The photos showing her profile and front are of a person who is too skinny to have the butt shown in the last photo. Are these before-and-afters, or is it possible she's wearing a little booty padding?
If she were inclined to smilies I can almost picture her adding a 
face.
When I saw the Dukes of Hazard preview in the theatres a few weeks ago, there's a scene where she struts towards Enis and perches on his desk trying to get some info from him. Everytime I saw that scene, I thought, Boy her booty is flat. So Marla's comment, coupled w/ my flashbacks of the flatness has prompted me to get to the bottom [no pun] of this.
Here is the scene in question. It's hard to really tell b/c it's so small & fuzzy. But if you go see the movie this weekend, lookout for it.
Now it could be a few things. She could've shot those bikini pics early in the movie, before the butt muscles had time to plump up (Lord is this what my degree paid for?). Or, She could in fact be using butt padding in the shorts picture, hence the fullness and roundness (still shaking head @ my analyzing this).
I'm no doctor, but I tend to think you either got it or you don't. Not to say her booty couldn't have been made firmer, but for it to be so rotund and pop out and almost compete w/Beyonce or a Serena Williams for noticeablity, well that's where my ability to suspend belief ends.
Granted both B and Serena are arching themselves thereby giving the booty more of a poking out style, but Jessica ain't a stranger to the arching one's back game either.
What could be the deciding factor in all three is both B & Serena are wearing skin tight garments. Jess however is wearing the more bulkier garment, denim, which could in fact have been, *cough* padded.
Ladies & gents, I make no judgements or accusations, I'm simply presenting the facts. I rest my case.

In the pictures in question, she is curving in the opposite direction for maximizing the butt. Her "C" like stance is probably pulling her butt a little flat. In her more butt flattering picture she is in a "J" like stance pushing the butt out.
I think it's kosher. Either way her butt still doesn't compare to B and Serena's. She still looks great though.

I want to say, I'm not criticizing Jessica here, I don't have an opinion about her one way or the other, it's just the media attention that gets under my skin. Like, suddenly a big, shapely ass is wonderful when a blonde white girl has one. There was a lot of commentary like that when Bo Derek popularized cornrows in the movie "10." But, whatever, that's Hollywood, and I guess we (meaning ME) would do well to not take it too seriously.

In order to get your torso to turn, you have to stick out your butt, with the forward hip a little higher than the back. Looking at myself in the mirror, that gives me more butt than I had just looking at myself sideways, as she in in the bikini picture.
Also, the cut of the shorts is a factor. See how they are longer in the back than they are in the front? The upward angle of the bottom of the shorts along her leg, make it look like there is more back there simply because there is more fabric back there.
Anyway, she hasn't got the booty. It's just clever costuming and photography, I think.

I like to chew on issues, so your point really made me think and in no way shape or form did I feel you were being critical.
Oh and your point about when the booty and cornrows become popularized? Spot on. Which now makes me think some more and as I type my brain is analyzing another topic.
Which makes me think...if one day you come here and just say "Butter", will I be like, That is a such GREAT one word point. Now I must craft a post about all the buttery thoughts that just came to mind

I commented in the other entry. I think it's the jeans. The pockets combined with the length, or lack thereof, of the jeans, and the slight arch, I think that's what's doing it. I'll give Jessica the benefit of the doubt.
