Just a wee rant

Last Thurs I posted an ad and got quite a few replies, something like 80 people as of Monday. Posting the ad and dealing w/the replies has exposed a pet peeve of mine that almost made my head explode yesterday.

Non-replies. What gives?!?!

I think that's why I'm super anal about answering emails, (the law of irony dictates that now that I wrote this, just like the person who haughtily corrects someone spelling in a public forum ends up making their own typo, someone will read this and be like, well she didn't answer my email...*snicker*) to the point where I had to shut off my gmail notifier. That little blue envelope started making me twitch as I'd drop whatever I was doing to read and reply. Nowadays I try to get to emails twice in the evening, when I get in and right before prime time TV starts.

But non-replies bug me, especially when I sent them two emails explaining what the ad was about, giving them the details on what I'm looking for and in each email, I end it by saying, "If you are still interested let me know." I've got no bones to pick w/the people who never replied to the first email, they weren't interested and now I know. It's the ones who replied, and when I sent them the sign up info, nothing.

I need to place another ad, but now I'm a bit turned off. Hmmm...I guess what I can do is say something like, if I don't hear back from you in a day or two, I'm moving on.

What I'm basically doing is paying people to do online stuff and once I give them the sign up info, I'm stuck. I only need a certain amount of people and I don't want someone finally getting around to it next week, when I've already paid the group, telling me I owe them money.

So yea, I can say that I only need X amount of sign ups and if I don't hear back from you by X day, I'll move onto the next person.

Ok, I feel better, head not exploding, back later to talk about food all of which includes: dim sum, pork chops & snails.

Yummers!
