I exaggerate about much, but when it comes to the reception of my TV, I do not kid. I'm way too cheap and way too broke to splurge on basic cable so here's what I deal w/on a daily basis, and why I don't watch much TV.
Keep in mind, this is what it looks like w/my newest antenna, the old one was much worse. W/the new one I actually get 7 of the 9 channels. Right around the time it let me be able to both see and hear CBS, I started getting hooked on Cold Case, W/o a Trace, CSI and 48 Hours.
Coincidence? I think not.
5 – FOX

8 - PBS

11 – NBC

17 – TBS

30 – PBS

36 – WB

46 – CBS

69 – UPN

The cruel irony is, if I adjust the antenna in order to watch ABC for my Oprah, NO OTHER station works, so she's gone. This is not the first time I've had to sacrifice the big O.
Sadly there's no antenna strong enough to show me FOX. It doesn't work @ all. I have to get my Simpsons fix via reruns on da WB, permanently making me 3 seasons behind on their shenanigans. I'm also crazy pissed I won't see the brilliant Ricky Gervais episode till 2009. Though I do have my ways on instantly seeing must see TV @ home from time to time *muah*...shhhhh!
@ 1 point, I got so desperate to believe I had more choices, I even let PAX and TBN join the gang of 9. ![]()
But the heathen in me immediately removed both, though I didn't much mind seeing Davey & Goliath every once in a while since I'm such a big ole' kid @ heart.

I do the same thing! I don't have cable. I have a HUGE antenna that takes up most of my room... but I now get 5 channels with it! (Before I only got one!)
Cable in my area is just too expensive. I can't really afford $60 bucks a month! So old school style it is. Good for you!
..ME TOO!! - I refuse cable..I'm using those ugly old "rabbit-ears" antenna & I must admit I do have MUCH MUCH better reception than you, maybe its because my tv is sooo old, when I upgraded to a new TV last year, I got really really bad reception even w/the rabbit ears - so, naturally i just returned the new tv & kept my old one..but there has to be something you can do for better reception than that -

TV is one of those double edged swords, isn't it? It's nice to have something that you enjoy that you can totally relax with... though from the images you put up I don't know how relaxing your tv viewing is! I love a few shows, but I hate how much of my time they can suck up!
