Water Sensations®

Way more than I hate paying for things I used to enjoy for free, I'm lQQking @ you Gold's gym, I LOVE getting free stuff!!

Normally, I get my water str8 from the water fountain and drink it @ room temperature or when I eat out, I ask them to hold the ice. My hook-up, Holly, gifted me the cutest looking water flavoring, Water Sensations®. She sent 4 flavors, Grape, Mixed Berry, Lemon & Strawberry Kiwi…I got giddy over which one to try first. Mixed Berry and Strawberry Kiwi fought for my attention. In the end, Strawberry Kiwi won.

W/o even tasting it, I'm already lovin' that it's 0 calories. That way I can combine the taste of having juice, which I sometimes crave but hate wasting money on, and still have the benefits of water.

I check out the back of the packet to see how I use it. It is shaped like a little water bottle…heh…nice job packaging design people...

Water Sensations® - Strawberry Kiwi

According to the directions, for single use, pour 1 packet into a 16.9oz (why not say 17oz?) bottle of water or tall, 2 cups (much better), glass. For a ½ gallon (now that's what I'm talkin' bout) pitcher pour 4 packets.

No Stirring or Shaking Necessary

*slaps hands together*

Now we are in business…

Oh wait…there's more…what's this fine print?

Do not consume directly from liquid-pack ™!

Here I was, seconds away from ripping them all open pretending to knock back shots…rats...

The review

I tear it open per the instructions…a bit hard to open, ended up using scissors. Smells yummy, sorta like strawberry kiwi lip gloss. Poured into my 12 oz water bottle.

Must. Resist. Urge. To. Shake.

*Pouring it*...I spied a hint of red, but it's pretty clear…

Onto the taste…

*Sniffs first*…yummy…

Can't stop sniffing…

*Drinking now*…Wow! It really packs a punch in the taste dept. It looks like nothing is in the water bottle, but it almost tastes like Kool-Aid…very sweet.

*Looking @ the nutritional info again*…are they sure this has no calories? It's gotta have sugar…

Nope. No sugar.

Ahh, this explains it:

Water Sensations ® is a clear liquid flavor enhancer for water. It contains only natural flavors. It is sweetened with Sucralose, a zero calorie, non-sugar sweetener. Citric acid and malic acid (in some flavors) which are found naturally in fruits are used to enhance the overall flavor. Potassium citrate is used as a natural stabilizer for the natural fruit flavors.

I think b/c I used so little water, the taste is extra strong, causing a bit of an after taste. Still, I really like it. I'll still primarily drink my water @ room temp b/c I'm cheap and water fountains are free. But if I go out to eat or the water fountain is spurting out cool water, like it did this AM, I can use this to make gag inducing cold water go down easier.

Cons:
- Can't drink it str8 from the packet like a shot bottle.
- A bit hard to rip open, used finger, then teeth, then cut it w/scissors.
- What's up w/the 16.9oz. .9ozs!?!? Really?
- Boys may not want to smell strawberry kiwi lip gloss (dudes, go w/grape).

Pros:
- 0 calories!
- Smells GREAT!
- Bottle shaped liquid-pack is easy to take along.
- Makes cool to cold water taste like juice.

Now that I know what to expect, move aside Mixed Berry later today I have a date w/Grape!
