Boca Meatless Breakfast Links

I wanted to ♥ these links...*sobs softly*...I really did...*honk*...
If one word can sum it up, that word would be: bleahyuck! If you need more words, keep reading.
So I ate these one hot night last week, when I was so hot, I had my dessert as soon as I came home from the gym. About an hour later, after I'd cooled off, I got a bit hungry and figured I may as well eat real food.
Still feeling too hot, and not wanting to get weighted down by a burger, I chose to have breakfast, eggs & sausage to be exact. And while I was at it, a slice of veggie cheese, a handful of mushrooms and a slice of avocado.
I put the sausages on the grill and saw it would take 8-10 minutes. Too damn long. I zapped them in the microwave for 45 secs, then put them on the corner of the grill while I worked the eggs. By the time I was done, i was pretty hungry and ready to eat. Everything else tasted good, then I bit into the sausage and felt bits and chunks and what tasted like dry sawdust.
This is my vegetarian fear. Chili = good. Burgers and sausage like items = notso good. It may be the brand, I'm open to trying other versions of sausage, but I'm not holding out much hope.

Again, I strongly recommend you keep a bottle of water nearby. This time to wash the sawdustages down your gullet. ![]()

I don't know if you can get yves products down there but I am a vegitarian and that is what I eat. If you are expecting it to taste like meat it will not. However, I quite like them. Also my hubby didn't like the veggie stuff at first and now he really loves it. Just another product to try. Sorry the bocas were a dissapointment. I haven't tried them so I don't know if they are the same as the yves. Good luck.
Not so much taste like meat, just more held together ya kno? I used to go to religious school when I was a kid, no pork on the premises, and they had fake meat that tasted pretty okay. Used it for "pork" and beans or "hot dogs". Us heathen kids were satisfied.
Their chili was delish. The bits of meat were chewy enough to fool me. But there's something about the veggie burger and the sausage though, they seem to crumble. Now I remember why I passed on Boca's veggie burgers last year. YaY! I've got 2 more brands to scope out, I also know of Amys, but not sure if she makes the meat products.
I'm not totally writing veggie eats off...I'm willing to do my patriotic duty and shop till I drop to secure my veggie eats.
dammit
Welcome back! Try the sausage patties - the links are notoriously suspect. The patties are closer to "the real deal". Also for burgers try Morningstar Farms vegan grillers - they are damn good!
I also use the Morningstar Farms crumbles to make my own delish veggie chili (and they are good anywhere you'd use ground beef). Hope you are doing great and I'm glad you turned comments on for a few days at least! I am toooooo lazy to email!
xoxo
Morningstar!!!! I knew there was another name to check out. Hee...I sensed you were trying to reach me ![]()
I can't read your comments because they all pile on top of one another. ![]()
So I don't know if someone already said this, but... Morningstar Farms sausage links are wonderful.

I hope you had a wonderful time.
Thank you for the review, I am always looking for meatless goodies.
I just bought Gardenburger meatballs so I will definitely let you know if I liked them or not.
