In what must be a reneegetsfit.com first, I was tossed out the gym...for being there too long!! Bwah!
Read on my pretties…
Yesterday, I got out the movies later than I planned, 5, and was wayyyy across town. I planned to go to the gym after the movies and had already dressed in my pants so all I'd need to change was my top.
Looking @ the time, I figured I could still hit the gym, but couldn't remember when it closed. On the way, I saw the sign for another Gold's in a construction areas. The sign said it was open. I head over, and it was open alright, for new sign ups. Rats. The sales guy told me the closest one was 9 miles away, but it was further away from where is stay. I figured, I'd just to my Gold's.
I get there @ 5:35-40 (need to put in 90 mins)..it closed @ 7 and today was my rest workout. I hot-tail it inside, slip on my sports bra, tank top, ♥ rate monitor, socks and hop on the first machine, Recumbent Bike. Then the Stationary Bike, then the StairClimber to jack up my hr and then the Elliptical.
All the whiles, I'm eyeing the clock. No way I'm gonna get my final 22 mins on the treadmill…shit…I'm hustling on the Elliptical till I realized, why move faster? Time will still tick the same.
@ 10 mins to 7 I had a choice, still set the treadmill for 22 mins, maybe they let you stay till you finish your routine, or run for 5 mins walk the rest of time they are open.
The receptionist walked the floor w/that a look that said, "Gawd people are still freaking here" I feebly smiled, she grimaced.
Elliptical done, feeling like I'm doing a triathlon, I sprint towards the treadmill, hurriedly set it to manual and resign myself to a 5 min run.
As I ran, there were 5 dudes pumping weight, one girl across form me running and a few others milling around...the second the run was over, a voice came over the loudspeaker, "The gym is closed."
I was so flustered, I cleared the screen and lost my running stats. Drenched w/sweat, I hustled to the locker to get my shirt and bra, mopping my brow all the way. Like a bouncer, she practically shoved us out the door.
Tumbling outside, most of us stood in front, milling about looking @ each other shuffling our feet, totally confused on what to do next. A few pawed @ the glass, before giving up and heading to their cars.
Man I love that place.
What I think further seals my pending gym rat moniker, all I could think about the rest of the nite, was how I so can't wait to get my full 90 min routine done Sunday AM ![]()

I knew she didn't *really* push you out the door, but I'm just surprised at the difference in attitude between the gyms. I mean, Gold's is a big namce gym, after all.

Are you kidding me? My husband is a personal trainer at a gym near us. The doors close at 9pm on weekends (11pm on weekdays)...the staff was told that members had up to a half hour after closing to get out. They are allowed to shower, finish a workout, whatever, as long as they are out by half past.
