So here's something...my dh and I (on his suggestion) decided to eat only fruit and veggies (cooked, raw, in salad, in soup,etc. etc) and just a bit of grains (bread, granola) and dairy (milk, yogurt, cheese). Then one day a week is free day where we can eat anything. We've been doing it for 2 months now and I've lost 8 lbs while he has lost 16lbs. That's a lb a week just like they recommend. It's pretty painless and I feel much better eating this way. There's no doubt we're getting the required servings of fruit, veggies and dairy! yummers
