Such a weird drop this morning. First weigh in said 193.8, which would've been a
from yesterday. I shrugged and thought, No biggie, I did eat a few more servings of peanut butter than usual and had a few more dollops of whipped cream and an extra fudgsicle, figures right?
Then I sat down to do my AM computer routine when my tummy started grumbling something awful. After an unexpected trip to the bathroom *cough* I felt, um, lighter. Just for giggles I hop back on the scale and saw 192.8. What tha... hopped on again: 192.6 Crikey and again: 192.6 okay then.
I'm firmly bracing myself for an upward tick maƱana.

So far SBD is faring better than my first attempt @ it 2 years ago. Back then I was all about my processed/fast foods and 1) wasn't going to be cooking and b) it seemed too expensive.
But I, and life, have changed a lot in 2 years. A big difference is a ton of info online. Lots of SBD forums where people share recipes, it's where I found the flaxseed omelet pancake and peanut butter cup. But the biggest change has been in me.
See a few years back, even @ the peak of fast food eating, I knew I wouldn't eat that way forever. I didn't want too. Gradually, w/o much thought, I changed my way of eating. I did the NutriSystem thing for a few months and considered it a transition period from eating huge portions once a day to eating small portions 5 times a day.
I will never forget these two experiences. The first time I opened their pizza and saw the crust was the same width as the palm of my hand. Even the personal pan @ Pizza Hut was twice the size and it's made for one.
And after eating their food diligently for 2 weeks, I went to Burger King and got a chicken sandwich. My mouth puckered up @ how salty it was.
Then I moved into my I-can-do-this-on-my-own stage, where I did the 5 meals thing and introduced more veggies into my diet. I also became big on water and super big on fiber.
All the while I'm moving from stage to stage, I backslide or I revert back to my old ways for a bit, but I lick my wounds and try again.
Up till I moved, I was back on my eating right kick. The 6 weeks I spent moving threw it all to hell, but again, I knew it wasn't forever. Once I settled not only was my routine going to come back, but I'd be able to cook a bit more. So the south beach thing, isn't as radical to me as it was 2 years ago. No detoxing from a 3 a day coca-cola habit. Or struggling to swallow water. No turning up my nose @ veggies. I've gone from eating none, to eating frozen, to looking forward to raw broccoli. ![]()
If you are thinking about SBD and are gleaning from me it's a piece of cake (yikes bad pun shouldn't use carbs) it's a piece of flax, well, temper your expectations. It took me 2 years to get to this point. Not to say it'll take you as long, but that's my story.
