Asked & Answered

In the last 3 weeks, 3 people have either asked or pointed out that I've lost weight. Which in various ways is both alarming and flattering.

First observation was about 3 weeks ago, I was standing the in the driveway when a friend of my aunt's asked, "Are you losing weight?" Usually a question like that gets me all flustered, but I slowly gulped and said, "Well I have been going to the gym." She nodded enthusiastically and said, "Yes, yes, I can see it." I quickly changed the subject and left.

Last Saturday, as I was moving out, I told my aunt I needed to get going b/c I had to stop @ Gold's and cancel my membership. She said eyeing my buttocks and thighs, "But you are going to keep going to the gym right? You've lost a lot of weight." I kinda stammered that yes I plan to join a gym and um, yea I guess I lost weight. I quickly vacated the premises.

Then early this week, I'm walking along, minding my own business when a woman who sees me from time to time approaches. I get ready to say hi, when she quickly rambles something @ me that didn't make sense. She was talking all fast in hushed tones. Puzzled, I'm looking @ her wondering why is a simple, "Hi/Bye" conversation suddenly so intense.

She asks again. This time I heard her. "Have you been dieting?!?!?" "Um,"...thinking back to how I've been eating and not eating during the move..."Er. Uh. No." She looks confused, I helpfully offer, "But I have been going to the gym"

"Ohh, you go to the gym," she says.

Yea, most evenings and on the weekend.

"Ahh…I see. Well you are looking good, maybe I need to start going to the gym myself."

Me, confused as fuck, says, "Uh. Ok," and scramble inside.

I haven't weighed myself in a while, so I don't know what it is people are seeing, that I absolutely am not. But it should make everyone in the webworld feel better to know that despite the fact that my stats are outdated up, I haven't updated food and or workouts in over 2 weeks and the pudge pics are shooting blanks, I did not fall face first into a vat of ice cream.

In fact, according to some, I have may have even lost weight. smirk

Hey Renee...

I had a very similar experience a few weeks ago. It seemed like it was in a couple of weeks people were mentioning that I was losing weight...all at once. My aunt mentioned it. Someone at work mentioned it. A guy at the video store mentioned it. Someone who works for the court mentioned it.

It was all at once...and it was while I was losing the weight that I gained back. What was interesting...and that I felt like since I already lost this weight once and gained it back...that I didn't really feel like I was losing weight, etc.

Ya kno, it's so bizzare, it's almost like it took a month for all the working out I did to catch up w/the outside, and since for the last 2 weks I haven't done any formal working out, I'm so puzzled. But maybe that's it huh? We workout like demons for 2-3 weeks, take a week off and wait for the Huzzah's to roll in lol

I always want compliments but when I get them I get all shy and flustered lol! It's it odd. We lose weight and we KNOW ppl will sooner or later notice and when they do it's hard to say "Yes I have and I still am. THank you for noticing!"

I found your blog thru CutDaFat btw :) and I really like reading your blog

I can't wait for you to post stats. In my mind you are my competition. When I am doing good you push me to do better. Probably because I am always trying to catch up to you...lol.
