All caught up
June 23, 2006 by Renee @ 07:47 AMI posted 3 earlier podcast shows, days 90-92. Later today, day 93 (today) will go up and then I'm back @ it daily till next Friday 6/30 which will also be day 100. That's why I did the 3 earlier shows, so I can end the month, first ½ of the year and shows on a cool cut off date.
They are fairly short, as I'm doing it from memory and I may not do it daily after day 100 but @ least once a week if not more. What's super cool is now I have natural background noise. Listen to today's show (day 93) or @ least day 92 and you'll hear the birds I wake up to every morning. As I was listening to each show so I could adjust the technical stuff, I heard them.
Hearing an entire show I sat back and thought, "Wow that's a really cool sounding chick. I'd totally subscribe to her podcast."
How vain is that?

Mic check
April 07, 2006 by Renee @ 09:34 PMSomeone just shot me an email saying the podcast for the last 3 days sounded garbled, which is right around the time I switched mics. Apparently it sounds that way on both itunes and directly from my site, but it sounds find on my end so I'm confused
Before I do any radical tinkering, can someone do me a favor, check out any one of these 3 podcasts and let me know if it sounds garbled to you too. (Please disregard my mumbling, rapid speech, repetitive "ums", "ahs", and "you knows", those things are a given
)
Day 27/100 (6:19 mins/5.9MB)
Day 26/100 (6:42 mins/6.2MB) or
Day 25/100 (22 secs/350kb)
Gracias!
update @ 10:45 - Ok, another report of a prob, if the next person who checks and also has probs can tell me what exactly what is wrong. Is the file is not downloading? Is the sound is very distorted or is it dead air? That'll help me narrow down what I need to trouble shoot. Oh and if you've been listening for a while and only had probs in the last few days, let me know that too. Gracias again!
update @ noon on 4/8 - I reposted those 3 shows and have been told now they sound fine. It's prolly how I FTPed the files not the mic, so if anyone has that dead air/distortion sound today, let me know. It shouldn't be the case, so happy listening ![]()
Hair today gone well you know the rest
March 29, 2006 by Renee @ 10:02 AMThe indentation on the left (right when you look @ the screen) is not an accident. That hair twisting, pulling when nervous habit I have kicked into overdrive last week after an argument w/a fam member. So while the cut was a vague idea after seeing V for Vendetta, by last weekend I had to do it.
Hmmm...perhaps subconsciously I wanted to go short and if I messed it up enough, I'd force myself to do so...

Listen to me
February 24, 2006 by Renee @ 12:15 PMThere are certain tricks I do to force/cajole myself into doing something. Now that I'm all about podcasting and I want to do it daily, what on earth can I find to talk about, that's fairly interesting and along the lines of what I want to provide on my site?
My challenge addled brain came up w/this: a Podcast Fitness Challenge!

February 22, 2006 by Renee @ 09:57 AMLast year in anticipation of my iPod I made it my goal to locate every single obscure song I've ever loved or danced in my seat to. It took me a little over a year, I started this mission @ the end of Jan '05 but as of a two weeks ago I'm done, managing to snag the final song, the one used in the soundtrack for American Beauty that sorta sounds like an instrumental tune played @ a Jewish or Greek function and also has a bit of 80's War Games techo pop in it. My collection ended up being 920 songs plus a couple of recent soundtracks bringing the grand total to 1245.
My current dilemma: my iPod holds 5000 songs and since already finding 950 of my favorites, I haven't even started on my extensive CD collection. It's too early to tell, but I'm thinking I may be needing and upgrade already. :\
If you heard yesterday's Pre Show podcast, you'll know that over the weekend I finally forced myself to sit down and play w/iTunes. @ first I hated it, too complicated, I didn't know what I was doing which always makes me anxious but sometime between late Monday nite/early Tues morn, I started to long for it. In other words, I'm hooked. But it came @ a price.

February 21, 2006 by Renee @ 10:30 AMJust before '05 ended, I signed up w/Flickr! and still need add new photos to it (Elle where do you find the time girlie? I'm so jealous!), which I'll do once I actually start taking photos.
I so love technology but last year I got overwhelmed by all that's out there. My fantasy device? An iPod that takes pictures, records audio, plays radio, browses the web, updates my blog and is a cell *drool*
This year, in addition to the daily site stuff, I'm expanding the offerings ever so slightly by jumping pudge first into the world of podcasting.
Shure it took me almost 5 years to get a CD player and just about that long to get a DVD player (you'll hear why in the podcast, link to it is below the fold) but I'm on board dammit and that's all that matters. I'll be playing around w/the sidebar over the next few days in order to promote the new feature. Last night I streamlined my feeds b/c honestly having links to Yahoo, AOL, Google, Pluck?!? is really too much. Now you feed-aholics can get your fix via 1 link no matter what feedreader you use and YAY! me I have 15 readers ![]()
